Fairy Gardens

I find that a lot of my creativity is inspired through artistic activities. I love art, especially ceramics. Most of my art is hands-on creations, rather than canvas work or drawings. During the summertime, I get very creative with gardening and to me, it's an art. I love creating fairy gardens and for me, this type of gardening inspires my creativity.
This past summer I have now been inspired to try something new. Bonsai gardening is a type of art as well and this summer I went to a bonsai class. I was a bit out of my comfort tone because it's a different type of gardening. With fairy gardens, you simply just decorate the area and select small plants that will look good in the garden. In a bonsai though, its more of a precise style. You must trim and shape the actual plant and as it grows, continue to trim the plant so that it maintains its shape.
Bonsai gardening is a bit more high maintenance than fairy gardening, however both of these gardening types inspire me to be creative!

  1. This is amazing! I've always loved fairy gardens. I've never tried to make one of my own though! Have you been to the botanical gardens to see their bonsai trees? They're lovely. I'm so inspired by your courage to take on a skill like this!

My Final Post

This will be my final post! I have enjoyed writing my small blog entries this semester for this course... I do not post on my Instagram or Twitter really so I hadn't "posted" or "blogged" about something in years. I really enjoyed this activity though and as a future teacher, I would love to incorporate something like this into my future classroom! I believe that if I were to incorporate a blog project like this, it could perhaps be a space for kids to share their ideas freely without the judgment or fear that they may feel if they were to talk about it 'in-person' in a classroom. It has also been fun to get to read other's entries and to comment on their posts and if I were to use this idea, I would love getting to see how my students communicate and acknowledge each other's ideas, life, and perhaps even personal topics that they decide to share about.  Thank you all for reading visiting, reading, and living kind comments on my blog this semeste...

My First Time Visiting "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter"

I have always loved Harry Potter. I remember being little and my mom reading the books to me before going to bed. When I was a little bit older, I began reading them on my own. I remember when "The Half-Blood Prince" came out, I literally had my mom and my aunt take me to the theaters to see it close to ten times! Then when the final movie came out I went to the midnight premiere, that will be a night I will never forget!  The First time that I visited the theme park in Orlando, Flordia I was only twelve. I was with my family and I walked in specifically with my mom and aunt. As a twelve-year-old at the time, I was in such shock! It was such a crazy thing for me to be experiencing. Now it has become something that I look forward to visiting each year! Every year since then in the month of October I have gone. Because of COVID this year I will not be going around the time when I usually always go. I was looking over many pictures I have of the Harry Potter World there at Unive...

Colorado

I am combining the topics from the previous week and this week and I am going to talk about a building/place that has brought me a memorable experience along with something that I love about Colorado that inspires me. From the pictures above you may be able to guess that this place in Colorado has been memorable for me as well as a place that has inspired my creativity.      I have lived in Colorado my entire life but it wasn't until late high school that I started going to Larimer Square that often. Larmier Square is known as a historic block located in Denver and it is the city's first designated local historic district. These pictures that I have incorporated within this post were taken late this summer around the time when Larmier Square opened back up due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As you can see, the signs that are hanging above the block say "Welcome back Denver" and "Together starts here." These s...
