Foods of Inspiration

Often, people will correlate creativity and art together. That creativity inspires art. This is however a myth, creativity comes in so many different forms. For me, what inspires my creativity is food! I love to bake and cook. When I watch Youtube videos, cooking shows, or see a food post on Pinterest, I always get inspired to either recreate the food or just cook and bake in general.
I get creative with my recipes because I feel like I put a piece of my own inspiration in them.
In the first picture above, I made spicy pasta. The recipe did not call for basil and parmesan as toppings, but I thought this was a nice touch for both taste and aesthetic purposes.
And in the second picture above, I made chocolate cupcakes with strawberry cream cheese frosting. I got creative with this recipe by carving/hollowing out some of the chocolate cupcakes and filling them up with the cream cheese. So they then became strawberry cream cheese filled cupcakes! I then topped them off with raspberries.

  1. I agree creativity is not limited to art pieces and can be applied to any areas such as food! Your own take and twist on your food creations can be called art as well. These look really delicious!!

  2. It's true! Creativity comes in so many different forms and cooking is definitely one of them. My little sister has always loved to bake and she is looking at becoming a culinary student soon. I'm excited for her to choose this path!

  3. Absolutely! I'm always watching videos of how Gordan Ramsey makes his food in restaurants and at home. While at home he offers a variety of simple (like scrambled eggs) to complex (Perhaps a full meal with a protein and salad) It's always fun to see what people come up with in the kitchen, and what you can add to it.

My Final Post

This will be my final post! I have enjoyed writing my small blog entries this semester for this course... I do not post on my Instagram or Twitter really so I hadn't "posted" or "blogged" about something in years. I really enjoyed this activity though and as a future teacher, I would love to incorporate something like this into my future classroom! I believe that if I were to incorporate a blog project like this, it could perhaps be a space for kids to share their ideas freely without the judgment or fear that they may feel if they were to talk about it 'in-person' in a classroom. It has also been fun to get to read other's entries and to comment on their posts and if I were to use this idea, I would love getting to see how my students communicate and acknowledge each other's ideas, life, and perhaps even personal topics that they decide to share about.  Thank you all for reading visiting, reading, and living kind comments on my blog this semeste...

My First Time Visiting "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter"

I have always loved Harry Potter. I remember being little and my mom reading the books to me before going to bed. When I was a little bit older, I began reading them on my own. I remember when "The Half-Blood Prince" came out, I literally had my mom and my aunt take me to the theaters to see it close to ten times! Then when the final movie came out I went to the midnight premiere, that will be a night I will never forget!  The First time that I visited the theme park in Orlando, Flordia I was only twelve. I was with my family and I walked in specifically with my mom and aunt. As a twelve-year-old at the time, I was in such shock! It was such a crazy thing for me to be experiencing. Now it has become something that I look forward to visiting each year! Every year since then in the month of October I have gone. Because of COVID this year I will not be going around the time when I usually always go. I was looking over many pictures I have of the Harry Potter World there at Unive...

Colorado

I am combining the topics from the previous week and this week and I am going to talk about a building/place that has brought me a memorable experience along with something that I love about Colorado that inspires me. From the pictures above you may be able to guess that this place in Colorado has been memorable for me as well as a place that has inspired my creativity.      I have lived in Colorado my entire life but it wasn't until late high school that I started going to Larimer Square that often. Larmier Square is known as a historic block located in Denver and it is the city's first designated local historic district. These pictures that I have incorporated within this post were taken late this summer around the time when Larmier Square opened back up due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As you can see, the signs that are hanging above the block say "Welcome back Denver" and "Together starts here." These s...
